Dear Gens de Confiance,
My name is Mary, but you can call me Shiko. I am a 30-year-old Kenyan currently living in Paris, France, and I am actively looking for a live-in full-time nanny position from the end of July 2026.
One of my strengths is my language skills. I am fluent in English, Swahili, and Kikuyu, and I also speak a bit of French, which I continue to improve every day through my life and work in France. I enjoy sharing my language and culture with children while helping them discover the world around them.
I would love the opportunity to become part of your family and support you in caring for your children and household. I am a calm, positive, responsible, curious, and independent person with extensive childcare experience as a babysitter, full-time nanny, and au pair. I genuinely enjoy helping children learn, grow, and feel safe and happy in their daily lives.
I am also very creative and enjoy organizing arts and crafts activities for children, especially around seasonal celebrations, birthdays, holidays, and special family occasions. I love creating fun and educational activities that encourage imagination, learning, and self-expression.
I am currently working for a lovely Parisian family since September 2024, caring for their now 3-year-old daughter and 8-month-old son. My time with them will end in July 2026 as the family is relocating Abroad.
My previous experiences include :
• Summer 2024 in Paris (10th arrondissement), caring for two brothers aged 2 and 5 years old.
• Au pair in Montigny-le-Bretonneux, caring for boys aged 18 months and 3 years.
• Summer au pair positions in Normandy and Strasbourg, caring for a 4-year-old boy and his 3-year-old sister.
• Caring for a 4-year-old boy in Puteaux while studying French (A1 level).
• Caring for children aged 1 and 3 years in Geyssans while helping them learn English.
I have also worked as a babysitter since 2014. My responsibilities included school pick-ups, homework assistance, preparing meals, organizing activities, and ensuring children’s safety and well-being until their parents returned home.
One of my most rewarding experiences has been helping care for my nephew Leon from the age of 2 months until he was 3 years old (he is now 5). I supported his daily routine, including feeding, bathing, walks, playtime, and developmental milestones such as learning to sit, stand, and walk. Watching him grow and hearing his first words remains one of my favorite memories.
I have also helped care for another nephew, Daniel, since he was 5 years old. My responsibilities included homework support, meal preparation, sports activities, outings to museums and shopping centers, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe home environment.
Throughout my experience, I have cared for infants, toddlers, school-aged children, and teenagers, both boys and girls. I am confident managing daily routines, meal preparation, laundry, educational activities, outdoor play, and household support.
In my free time, I enjoy exploring new places, spending time with friends, discovering French culture, and continuing to improve my French language skills.
